ISE9

Hi there scarfy people! After talking with Karrie, I'd love to try to set up another international scarf exchange. I think it would be a nice project for fall/winter, before the holidays overtake us.

Can I see a show of hands of people who would be interested? I'll also ask around on Ravelry and Facebook too.

I hope you'll join in--stay tuned for more information!

Thank You Participants

Just a quick note to thank all who participated in ISE 8.

An extra big thank you to my two angels who made sure no one was left out. Thank you to the two participants who had to wait a little longer to receive your scarves.

Hope all had a good time.

I will not be hosting ISE 9 and as yet have not heard of anyone willing to take up the challenge. If there is anyone willing to do so you can contact me at intlscarfexc@gmail.com

Happy Knitting All

What a wonderful package I received in the mail. A beautiful Scarf, handmade stitch markers, an awesome crocheted case for my new tape measure (which I have used 15 times since I have gotten it) Rose mints, a new notions case with scissors and two skeins of Peruvia Colors.

Thank you so much to my lovely Angel, Leah for stepping up to help a gal out. I can not wait until it's chilly enough to wear my new scarf.

The unwarpping of my scarf

I unwarpped my scarf package from the adorable lady Leah just then. Thank you very much Leah. I love the scarf you knitted for me very much! The color of yarn makes me think of ocean and I love the little beans you add on the side♥ I'm going to find a big debut for it!(But the weather is very hot...lol)
Leah prepared me a lovely Eco-friendly set. There's a cute greenroom notebook , a mini sized reusable bag(with flower and polka dot patterns, those two are my favorite!) and a nature feeling project bag with orange humming bird on it. Leah used beautiful paper napkin to warp the treats. I unwarpped them carefully in case I can use them to make decoupage or something else:)
I think I knew Leah's my pal at the first time I recieved her email and, she really is. Thank you again Leah. You make my first ISE project so wonderful. And thank you Mille, my downstar pal, it's a great experience to knit for you! There's a thank you for Karrie, thank you for manage this project and work so hard on it.
Wish you all a great day♥

Thank you Wendy!

I recieced the really cute blue and green spring fresh scarf quite some time ago, but never got around to posting here... Sorry! I do wonder about the stitch you used, though, Wendy, it was new to me!
I got some very cute cat cards as well, along with some Asian candy (a bit unusal tasting.. ;) )
My cat loved the wrapping most, I made a toy with the coated paper and string, attached a bell to it - and it is still in use :)

Thanks for hosting, Karrie! This is a fun game to be part of.

Scarf just returned!

Mailed my scarf on March 13th (to Kev4ce) and just got it back in the mail yesterday (June 4). Couldn't deliver it so I'm not sure if it walked by itself all the way back to Canada from Texas! Where has it been for almost 3 months as I sent it Express Post. Anyway, I sent an e-mail to the recipient to ask for an alternate address but wanted to post here too in case this was monitored more frequently.

Cable Preview

Finished! While this is a fairly simple scarf, the challenge I set for myself was to do five stitches crossed over three stitches cables without a cable needle.

Sailing along

Hello all,Ive been very busy with my studies and some very heavy reading but have still been able to get over half the scarf done,Im very pleased with it and hope to finish it in the next week or so!!Cheerio!!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Almost finished

I finished 2/3 of the scarf for my lovely pal and I hope I can finish it before this weekend. I'm a fan of packing up.lol.
This is a part of the scarf. I love its color. And (I guess) it fits my pal's color fave.
xoxo

Red Herring?

Could someone in this scarf exchange be the recipient of this lovely lace scarf in Panda Silk yarn? Hint, this color is not one of my that my scarf pal chose. The scarf will be quite lovely once it's blocked.

Halfway there

I'm half-way done with the scarf I'm working on, and am ever so pleased! I chose a simple pattern for the elaborate colorway of the Noro yarn, and it is working out nicely.

Soon it will be time to choose the extras, a task I always enjoy.

On a side note, I haven't heard from the partner who is sending to me--just wondering--

Knitting away in Seattle

Hi gals,

I am very excited to be a part of this year's scarf exchange. I have had two fellow knitters who have participated in the past and it was their positive experience that encouraged me to join the fun. I have been busy completing a few baby shower gifts and am happy to share that I am finally done with all my other projects. So I am in the creative stage of ISE for my pal , Glor. Happy Knitting, Maureen

Noro Love

I've made some good headway on the scarf for my pal. I'm using lace-weight Noro in a beautiful colorway of greens and turquoise and a myriad other colors as well. My camera is broken, so I'm not able to take photos yet, but I'm really happy with the way it's working up on size 0 needles. It's delicate and lofty--very nice.

More anon!

Busy working on my scarf this week - have reached the halfway point just now. My (hopeful) goal is to have it done before heading out on holidays later this month. We'll see how the week goes!

Working Hard

So much post poped up lately. It's so much fun to check the blog everyday.
I'm now working hard on the scarf. I finished 1/3 of it so far:) But I'm not sure it's a great scarf.
I changed my first design. It's hard to decied what to knit but I enjoy it very much.
Can't wait to see what everybody's knitting♥

Have great weekend:)

xoxo
Smiling Girl
it's my second post.
I'm not sure when's the second time I should post so I just do it when I think of it.

Hi all - checking in

Hi all - So fun to see newbies to the ISE, as this is at least my third time if not more. Hi Leah! I've enjoyed my previous exchanges and look forward to this one too. Usually I'm all "I don't need a functional scarf", as I live in North Carolina... but this year we've had lots of snow and I'm totally dependent on the Aibhlinn my spoiler gave me last time!
My first blog post (thanks to the organizer for reminding me!) so I hope I've done this correctly. Seems like an easy thing this scarf exchange, now I'm fretting about the yarn I picked. I hope it's the right colour but it is on the receipient's list. I've played around with a few patterns to see what looks the best and need to settle on one tomorrow.

Wow,Cant wait!

This is exciting,I hope I get info for Pal soon so I can start the special scarf Ive picked, just want to make sure Ive got it right first!!!Im also just starting a Uni course so this will be my calmer project!

up from the dead

I live ! And so does my computer.

My computer had a nasty virus and I just got it back last week and was finally able to get it up online on Sunday. And then I came down with a cold ! Unfair.

I am slowly working my way out of he piles of Kleenex and totally forgot to check this blog, gar!!!

I love this swap, it's a great way to meet new people and see all kinds of wonderful patterns.

First Exchange!

This is my first exchange, and I'm really pumped!

My pal's scarf is in the works!

Trying this posting thing

I am just technically challenged I think.

I am trying to post like I'm suppose to and I just keep posting to this new blog that I created without wanting to create.

Don't be afriad pal - What I can't do to the computer, I can do to string.

This is so much fun!

This is my second exchange (thanks Karrie for starting this up again) and I thought it would be easier but here it is the second week and I'm still agonizing about pattern and yarn :-(

Thinking of Spring...

So, spring is fast approaching in Brooklyn--the little knobs are coming out on the trees, precursors to actual buds and then to flowers and then leaves! Hooray! As a result of this, I'm feeling a little cheerier and thinking about lighter knitting--in all senses, nice colors, a light yarn...how about the rest of you?

I'm eager to meet you ladies, so post away!

Saying Hi

Hello everyone:)
I was not sure what should I post until I saw Leah's post. I'm the smiling one from Asia, Taiwan. New college semester started few days ago. So I'm now in my dorm room and knitting something. Yeah, I've already decied what to knit for my pal and start it today♥(It's hot today so my friends think I'm a fool while they seeing me knitting today, but I can't stop myself knitting.lol)
It's my first time to join the Scarf Exchange thing so I'm not sure I can do it well.
But I learn something lately: All knitting lovers are kind and nice:) Thank you Karrie for helping me a lot about my questions and of course, build this up.
And thank you for reading my clueless words:)

best wish

Hello fellow scarf-ers!

I thought I'd just break the ice, so to speak, and post a post! Hello to you other swappers out there. I'm Leah from Brooklyn, and I'm really looking forward to this swap. Thanks to Karrie for resurrecting it for us.

I think I have a good idea for a scarf for my partner, but knowing me...well, I tend to change my mind at least once during the Scarf Exchange. Oh well, that's part of the fun!

I look forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome

To all those interested in participating in this International Scarf Exchange:

Having been a past "ISE" participant, I was waiting excitedly for the new ISE to start. While our last hostess was experiencing problems in the late part of 09 I can only assume that life has given her enough to handle at this moment. As we have all been there I'm sure we can all be understanding.

So I decided to continue on with this very cool exchange. I have never hosted an exchange before. I hope you will consider joining however, I ask for patience and understanding as I learn the ropes.

As with any exchange we all have to abide by the timelines and the responsibility that we accept when joining. You are expected to finish your scarf and mail it to the recipient. Additional "gifts" for your pal are not required. I have no control over the amount of "stuff" in your package.

If I missed something - apologies. Let me know and I'll try to clear it up.

Sign ups through Feb 15th 2010

You will be forwarded your recipient by Feb 22nd 2010

Scarves ship by April 15th 2010

During this exchange I request that you post to the group blog every 2 weeks and drop a line to your recipient every two weeks also so both your recipient and I know your not flaking out.
(That's only 2 quick postings in 1 two week period or 6 total)
